Ladli Behna Yojana, officially the Mukhyamantri Ladli Behna Yojana of Madhya Pradesh, pays Rs 1,500 every month into the bank accounts of eligible married women in the state. Right now new registrations are not open, so this page focuses on what existing beneficiaries can check and what everyone else should know before believing any "new form" message.

We are an independent guide written for women and families in MP, not a government office, and you can apply, log in or check status only through the official portal or your gram panchayat or ward office. Read on for the rules in plain words, and the status panel shown above this article lists the latest installment we have confirmed.

Ladli Behna Yojana today: where things stand

If you only read one part of this page, read this. The scheme is running, money is still being credited every month, and the state cabinet has decided to continue it for the next 5 years. At the same time, the door for new names is shut for now.

What is Ladli Behna Yojana (Ladli Behna Yojana kya hai)?

The Chief Minister Ladli Behna Yojana is a Madhya Pradesh government scheme that gives a fixed sum of money every month to women who meet its rules. The aim is simple: a small, regular income that a woman controls herself, credited straight to her own bank account. It is run by the state Women and Child Development department.

People search for it under many spellings: Ladli Bahna Yojana, Ladli Bahan Yojana MP, Ladli Bahana Yojana, Mukhyamantri Ladli Yojana or even Mukhyamantri Laadli Yojana. All of these point to the same MP scheme. It is not the Maharashtra Ladki Bahin scheme and not the Jharkhand Maiya Samman scheme, which are separate schemes of other states. If you live in Maharashtra, see our note on Ladli Behna and Maharashtra.

The money is sent by DBT, which stands for Direct Benefit Transfer. It means the government sends the amount directly into the bank account linked to your Aadhaar, with no cash handed over by any person in between.

How the monthly amount has changed

The scheme started in June 2023 at Rs 1,000 a month. It was raised to Rs 1,250 in 2023, with the higher amount credited from October 2023 (one report says September, so treat the exact month loosely). In November 2025 the state cabinet raised it again to Rs 1,500, and the first Rs 1,500 credit went out on 12 November 2025.

StageAmount per month
At launch, June 2023Rs 1,000
From late 2023Rs 1,250
From November 2025 (current)Rs 1,500
Promised target by 2028Rs 3,000 (not implemented)

In past years an extra Rs 250 was also paid in August around Raksha Bandhan. Treat that as a yearly decision, not a fixed rule. Some websites already claim the amount is Rs 3,000. That is wrong as of now, and our kist date guide explains how to tell a real increase from a rumour.

Who is eligible for the Ladli Behna scheme

In short, the scheme is for married women of MP from families that are not well off. A woman needs to meet all of these:

  • She is a resident (mool nivasi) of Madhya Pradesh.
  • She is married. Widows, divorced women and women abandoned by their husbands also count. Unmarried women are not eligible.
  • She is between 21 and 60 years of age, with 21 completed as of 1 January of the application year.
  • The combined family income is below Rs 2.5 lakh a year.

She is left out if she or anyone in her family pays income tax, holds a government job (regular, permanent or contractual) or draws a government pension, if the family owns a four-wheeler (a tractor does not count), owns more than 5 acres of land, or has a current or former MP or MLA. There is no caste or category condition. Payments stop at age 60, and such women are pointed to the old-age pension instead.

Our Ladli Behna eligibility checker walks you through these rules one by one in your browser.

How payments reach you and why they sometimes do not

Each month the state releases the kist (installment) in one go, usually somewhere around the 10th to the 16th. There is no fixed official date. The money lands in the woman's own bank account through DBT.

When a woman stops getting money, the reason is nearly always one of these:

  1. Her Samagra or Aadhaar e-KYC is not updated. Samagra is MP's family and member database, and the Samagra ID is the number that identifies you in it.
  2. Her bank account is not Aadhaar-linked, or DBT is not active on it. Linking Aadhaar to the account so that government transfers can arrive is called Aadhaar seeding.
  3. She was removed after a check found her ineligible.
  4. She crossed age 60.

About 1 lakh women missed one installment in early 2026, and the beneficiary count has dropped from about 1.32 crore to about 1.25 crore over time. Our guides on Samagra e-KYC and checking payment status cover the fixes step by step.

Can you still apply? Registration and the next phase

No. As of now there is no open registration for the MP Ladli Behna Yojana. Since launch, 1,31,06,525 women were registered in earlier phases, and 1,25,29,051 were active at the time of the Assembly reply. In late September 2026 the Chief Minister said at a public event that eligible women who were left out would be added "next year". That was a spoken remark. No date and no official order has followed.

Many YouTube videos and blogs give exact form dates. These claims are unofficial. Do not pay anyone to "pre-register" you. When a new phase is announced, forms in the past were handed out at the gram panchayat, ward office or a special camp. Our registration guide explains how the earlier phases worked so you can be ready.

Ladli Laxmi Yojana: the scheme for girls

Ladli Laxmi Yojana is a separate and older MP scheme meant for daughters, in place since 1 April 2007. It is sometimes called the Ladli Beti Yojana in searches. A certificate of assurance for Rs 1,18,000 is issued in the girl's name. She gets school scholarships totalling Rs 18,000 at Class 6, 9, 11 and 12 admissions, and Rs 1,00,000 at age 21 as long as she wrote her Class 12 exam and her marriage did not happen before 18.

The Ladli Laxmi 2.0 update added Rs 25,000 for a graduate or professional course after Class 12, which is why you will often see a total of Rs 1,43,000 quoted. The cabinet has also decided to continue this scheme for 5 more years. Details and the anganwadi process are on our Ladli Laxmi page.

Ladli Behna Awas Yojana in brief

The Ladli Behna Awas Yojana is a housing scheme announced for Ladli Behna beneficiaries who have no pucca house and were left out of PMAY (the central housing scheme). It promised Rs 1,30,000 in three parts: Rs 25,000, Rs 85,000 and Rs 20,000. In all, 61,03,567 women applied in the short window in 2023.

The honest picture is that, as of the last reliable report we found, no beneficiary had been paid and the scheme was stalled for lack of funds. We found no trustworthy report of a revival. Read our Awas Yojana page before trusting any list or payment claim.

Ladli schemes in other states

The word "Ladli" is used by several states, which confuses many searchers. A few examples:

  • Haryana Ladli Social Security Allowance: a monthly allowance (now Rs 3,200) for parents who have only daughters, paid from when either parent turns 45. See Haryana Ladli.
  • Delhi Ladli Scheme: replaced by the Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana, which builds savings for a girl through her school years. See Delhi Ladli.
  • Maharashtra Ladki Bahin and Jharkhand Maiya Samman: women's cash schemes of those states, not the MP scheme.

Our other states overview puts them side by side. A Hindi version of the main guide is also available on our Hindi page.

Questions people ask

How much money does Ladli Behna Yojana give now?

Rs 1,500 a month for general beneficiaries. Reports say women who also get a social security pension receive Rs 900 a month from this scheme. Rs 3,000 is a promise for 2028, not the current amount.

Is the Ladli Behna Yojana registration open?

No. No new registration date has been officially announced. Treat any message that gives a form date as unofficial until the state government or your gram panchayat confirms it.

Will the scheme continue?

Yes. The state cabinet decided to continue Ladli Behna for the next 5 years with a large budget. No change to the per-woman amount was mentioned in that decision.

Why did my Ladli Behna money stop?

The usual reasons are incomplete Samagra e-KYC, a bank account that is not Aadhaar-seeded with DBT active, removal after an eligibility check, or turning 60. Check your payment status on the official portal first, then fix e-KYC or bank linking.

Can unmarried women get Ladli Behna money?

No. The scheme is for married women. Widows, divorced women and women abandoned by their husbands are included, but unmarried women are not.

Is this the same as Ladli Laxmi Yojana?

No. Ladli Behna pays adult women every month. Ladli Laxmi is for girls and pays scholarships and a lump sum at 21. They are different MP schemes with different rules.
