There is no ladli behna yojana maharashtra: Ladli Behna is a Madhya Pradesh scheme, and the Maharashtra scheme people usually mean is a separate one called Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana. We are an independent guide focused on the MP scheme, so we do not take applications, and any form, login or payment check for either state happens only on that state's official portal or at its local offices.
The names sound almost the same, which is why so many women in Maharashtra land on Ladli Behna pages, and why MP women sometimes see Maharashtra news and think it is about them. This page explains the difference in plain words, compares the MP scheme, and tells you where to go for Maharashtra details.
Is there a ladli behna yojana maharashtra?
No. Ladli Behna, full name Mukhyamantri Ladli Behna Yojana, is run by the Madhya Pradesh government for women who live in MP. A woman living in Maharashtra cannot join it, and the MP portal has no role in Maharashtra payments.
Searches such as maharashtra ladli behna yojana, mukhyamantri ladli behna yojana maharashtra, ladli bahan yojana maharashtra or meri ladli behna yojana maharashtra almost always mean Maharashtra's own women's cash scheme, the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana. The same is true of cm ladli behna yojana maharashtra, ladli behna yojana महाराष्ट्र, and mukhyamantri ladli behna yojana maharashtra application. "Ladli behna" in Hindi and "ladki bahin" in Marathi both mean "dear sister", which explains the mix-up.
Ladli Behna vs Ladki Bahin: the key difference
Both are state government schemes that send money to women's bank accounts. That is where the similarity ends:
| Point | Ladli Behna (MP) | Ladki Bahin (Maharashtra) |
|---|---|---|
| State | Madhya Pradesh | Maharashtra |
| Full name | Mukhyamantri Ladli Behna Yojana | Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana |
| Run by | MP government | Maharashtra government |
| Where to check | MP Ladli Behna portal, gram panchayat or ward office | Maharashtra government's official portal and local offices |
| Rules and amounts | Explained on this site | Not covered here, check the Maharashtra portal |
We have not verified Maharashtra's amounts, age limits or income rules from a reliable source, so we do not state them. Please do not rely on MP figures for a Maharashtra application.
What MP's Ladli Behna Yojana gives
For comparison, here is how the MP scheme works today. Eligible women get Rs 1,500 a month. Where a woman is also on a social security pension, she is reported to be paid Rs 900 monthly under Ladli Behna instead. Payments travel through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer), landing directly in her personal Aadhaar-linked bank account.
The scheme began at Rs 1,000 a month, was raised to Rs 1,250 in 2023, and then to Rs 1,500 from November 2025. A promise to reach Rs 3,000 has been made, but no order raising it beyond Rs 1,500 was found. For the most recent confirmed kist, look at the summary box near the top. Our installment date page explains when money usually arrives.
Who qualifies in MP
Only married women whose permanent home (mool nivasi) is Madhya Pradesh can join. A widow, a divorcee or a wife left by her husband also counts as eligible, while a woman who never married does not. Other main rules:
- Age 21 to 60.
- Combined family income below Rs 2.5 lakh a year.
- No family member pays income tax or is a government employee or pensioner.
- The family does not own a four-wheeler (a tractor is allowed) or more than 5 acres of land.
- No caste or category restriction.
The full list is on our eligibility page. A woman who moved from MP to Maharashtra should ask her MP gram panchayat or ward office how a change of residence affects her, because the scheme is tied to MP residence.
Registration status in MP
MP is not accepting fresh Ladli Behna sign-ups. Answering a question in the Assembly in February 2026, the state's women's welfare ministry wrote that adding new names was not being considered at that time. Later remarks that left-out women may be added "next year" came with no date or order.
So if a website or video says the MP form is open, treat it with suspicion and check the official MP portal first. Women already in the scheme should keep Samagra e-KYC and bank DBT up to date. Samagra ID is the number the MP government gives each family and person for state benefits. Our e-KYC guide walks through it.
For Maharashtra readers: where to check
If you live in Maharashtra, the Ladli Behna rules on this site do not apply to you. For the Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana, including its application, list, installment, Marathi instructions and any festival or Diwali bonus news, please go to the Maharashtra government's official Ladki Bahin portal or your local anganwadi or ward office in Maharashtra.
Searches like ladli behna yojana diwali bonus maharashtra or ladli beti yojana maharashtra ask about things we could not verify, so we will not guess. Many viral posts mix up the two states. If a message mentions MP's Samagra ID, it is about MP, and if it mentions Maharashtra offices, it is about Ladki Bahin.
Avoiding fake forms and agents
Because the two names are so close, fraudsters use both. Keep these points in mind:
- No state charges a fee to register for these women's schemes. Do not pay an agent.
- Never share an OTP from your phone with a caller, even if they say they are from the government.
- Do not fill forms on unknown links shared on WhatsApp.
- Check any news of new registrations on the official portal of your own state.
